As the NBA investigates a video that appears to show him holding a gun in a nightclub, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant says he accepts “full responsibility” for his actions.
In a live Instagram broadcast on Saturday, All-Star guard Morant, 23, appeared to be holding a handgun.
It happened just hours after the Grizzlies were defeated by the Denver Nuggets, 113-97.
Morant, who has been suspended for “at least two games”, apologised and said he would “get help”.
“I accept full responsibility for what happened last night,” he said in a statement.
“I apologize to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis, and the entire Grizzlies organization for disappointing you.
“I’m going to take some time off to seek help and work on improving my stress management and overall well-being.”
“We are aware of a social media post involving Ja Morant and are investigating,” said NBA spokesman Mike Bass.
