Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is in favor of eliminating FA Cup replays and believes “other solutions” must be found to financially support smaller clubs.
It comes as key figures in English football gather to discuss top-flight clubs’ proposals to restructure aspects of the domestic game.
“Lifelines for small clubs cannot be major issues for clubs that play every three days,” Klopp said.
“Playing more games will not solve all of our problems,” he added.
FA Cup replays were eliminated in the 2020-21 season to help clear the fixture backlog caused by Covid-19, and they were also eliminated in the third and fourth rounds last season.
