Kyle Jacobs, Kellie Pickler’s husband, appears to have committed suicide, according to police.

Kyle Jacobs, the husband of singer Kellie Pickler, died by apparent suicide at the age of 49, according to the Nashville Police Department.

At 1:21 p.m. on Friday, Nashville’s Department of Emergency Communications received a 911 call from a home on Sneed Road.

“Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and found resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office,” according to a statement from the Nashville Police Department.

“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide,” according to the statement.

Pickler “reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him,” according to the Nashville Police Department.

When Pickler and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, she dialed 911.
Jacobs is well-known for his songwriting and music. He was a co-writer on Garth Brooks’ song “More Than a Memory,” as well as Kimberley Locke’s single “8th World Wonder.”

He also contributed to songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson, and Scotty McCreery.

In his most recent Instagram post, Jacobs announced that Lee Brice’s album, “Hey World,” on which he worked as a producer, had been certified platinum.

“Platinum?! SWEEET!!! This one was put together by an incredible team of incredibly talented people… I am deeply honored to be a part of it creatively “He wrote something in the caption. “Thank you very much, Jesus!”

Jacobs and Pickler married in 2010. They married the following year.

Pickler revealed her marriage to Jacobs to ABC News in 2014.

“I love my husband, but I also like him,” she explained. “We genuinely like each other. We’re doing great; there’s nothing to complain about.”
