Fuka Nagano, a Japan international midfielder, has joined Liverpool from the North Carolina Courage.
Nagano, 23, played in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) this season after winning league titles in Japan and South Korea.
She won the Under-20 World Cup in 2018 and has since made 34 senior appearances for Japan.
She is the Reds’ third signing of the transfer window, following Gemma Bonner and Sofie Lundgaard.
“She’s excellent on the ball, creative and tactically astute, and her international experience with Japan speaks for itself,” Liverpool manager Matt Beard said.
“In club football, she’s played in a highly tactical league in Japan, as well as an athletic and transitional league in America, and the WSL is probably halfway between the two.”
