Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that his work in Europe is complete, but he had “many opportunities” from other clubs prior to joining Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.
He signed as a free agent with Al Nassr on Friday after leaving Manchester United following a contentious interview in which he criticized the club.
The 37-year-old Portugal captain stated that he had received offers from clubs in Brazil, Australia, the United States, and Portugal.
“I gave my word for this club,” he said on Tuesday at his unveiling.
“I won everything, I played for the biggest clubs in Europe, and now it’s time for a new challenge in Asia.”
Ronaldo is reportedly set to earn the most money in football history, more than £177 million per year, in a contract that runs until 2025.
