The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that Chinese officials must share more real-time information on Covid in the country as infections rise.
Many of the country’s strict restrictions have been lifted in recent weeks, but cases have risen, and several countries are now screening Chinese visitors.
WHO officials have stated that they would like to see more information on hospitalizations, intensive care unit admissions, and deaths.
It also wants vaccination statistics.
The United States, Spain, France, South Korea, India, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan have all imposed Covid tests on Chinese travelers, fearing a resurgence of the virus.
Passengers arriving in England from China will also be required to provide a negative test before boarding a flight.
