Marcus Rashford of England and three other first-team stars, including Rashford, have had their one-year contracts extended by Manchester United.
Goalkeeper David de Gea’s contract is set to expire at the conclusion of the current season; negotiations are still ongoing.
Manager Erik ten Hag previously stated that United would exercise their options for Rashford, Luke Shaw of England, Diogo Dalot of Portugal, and Fred of Brazil.
In June, all four players would have had the option of leaving Old Trafford.
In contrast, De Gea’s situation is unique.
If United demanded a contract extension, De Gea would receive the £375,000 weekly pay the club agreed to when they last did so in 2019, making him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.
The 32-year-old has the option of signing a shorter contract with fewer clauses.
