Colin Farrell receives a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in “The Banshees of Inisherin.”

Colin Farrell’s performance in “The Banshees of Inisherin” earned him the Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy film.

“I never expect films to succeed or find an audience, and when they do, it astounds me,” Farrell said in his acceptance speech.
He also expressed gratitude to Brendan Gleeson, who plays the musician Colm in the film, saying, “All I did when I came to work every day was aspire to be your equal.”

Even though Inisherin is not a real place, the film was shot on real Irish islands, and Farrell made sure to thank the locals.
