China restricts visitors from South Korea and Japan due to Covid rules.

In retaliation for Covid restrictions on Chinese travelers, China has stopped issuing short-term visas to individuals from South Korea and Japan.

Visas for South Korean tourists entering China have been suspended, according to Beijing’s embassy in Seoul.

According to Japanese media, China is imposing similar measures in Japan.

It’s a retaliatory move that Beijing says will continue until ‘discriminatory‘ entry restrictions against China are lifted.

Last week, South Korea stopped issuing tourist visas for those coming from China, which the Chinese foreign ministry called “unacceptable” and “unscientific“.
