According to a Broward County Sheriff’s Office incident report, boxer Gervonta Davis was arrested Tuesday after allegedly hitting a woman in the face.
Davis hit a woman with a “closed hand type slap,” causing a small abrasion on the inside of her upper lip on the right side of her mouth.
Davis, 28, was arrested in Parkland, Florida, on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm and was booked into the Broward County jail on Tuesday.
His scheduled Showtime fight against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 in Washington is in jeopardy.
Davis is also due in court on Feb. 16 to face more than a dozen charges stemming from an alleged hit-and-run in 2020, in which he is accused of leaving the scene of an accident and failing to return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury after the Lamborghini he was driving ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
