County Executive Mark Poloncarz posted on Twitter on Tuesday that officials were working in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHESES) of Erie County to send fuel to emergency teams and food supplies to stores.
Poloncarz said during the news conference on Tuesday that “during the height of the storm, we were getting calls from local governments to help them with their trucks for diesel.” And to ensure that their trucks could always be on the road, we were making specific deliveries to towns that may have been running low on supplies.
According to DHESES Commissioner Daniel Neaverth, county officials have been in contact with grocery suppliers to verify that the food is on the shelves.
